Blog Journal 10
Hello everyone!!
Using data collection (surveys) can engage the students within the classroom. And it allows teachers to know information they did not know before doing so. I think I will use surveys to get to know the student's lifestyle at the beginning of the new year. Towards the end of the year I will probably make a survey to gage what the students liked or did not like about the school year. It will be interesting how I will actually make it work since I plan on teaching Kindergarten. Maybe the parents can be my main subjects and I'll gain perspective on how they thought the year went. The reporting (Excel) tools will show me the average of how the students answered, allowing me to gain the information easier. As a future educator I would like to know what the children like best knowledge wise and also classroom environment wise.
In terms of our "Assignment 4", I found it interesting how we all have a variety of topics. Not only have I seen it on this assignment, but on our previous ones too! I love how creative we are, it ensures me that we can do anything we set our minds to. In particular, I found Maggie's topic enlightening. Literary devices are extremely important in literature, and I thought she had great examples. The rest of them also looked phenomenal, I almost wish I was as creative as them. Over all, I think we did a great job on our lessons.
I would love to learn how to efficiently use Excel. I find it daunting but I know with proper guiding I can master it. I definitely need to understand how to use it for our Assignment #7. Excel is such an essential skill to use because it can help teachers budget or create different class-works. When I set my mind to reach a goal, I always acquire it one way or another. It makes me independent on my self and it is important for me to be self sufficient.
