Hello everyone!

In terms of a"Flipped Classroom", it is designed so that the students learn the material that is usually directed within the classroom online at home. And then, hypothetically, the students would discuss what they learned at home and do the homework in class. The goal of this instructional design is to deepen the learning of the educational material. However, this is a great idea but giving all the responsibility to the students might not lead them to educational success. For example, the student might get lazy and not do their learning part at home. Or, the student might not have access to WiFi, and this causes a digital divide within the classroom. This also might cause more confusion than educational success for the educator and his/her students.

Open educational resources (OER) are available to teachers of all kinds to use resources for educational purposes. Once you visit OER, you can acquire English Lit. resources, Art History resources, and so much more. I think it is an exceptional route for teachers that use it to supplement their teaching if need be. I found an article that speaks about the future of OER and its benefits. I like the article because it provides unbiased opinions and evidence. Such as this one, "Perhaps the most critical problem for OER: Specific resources can be difficult to find, a topic that Edutopia explored in 2015 and again in2017". It can be difficult when the resources cannot be found after multiple years. Those kinds of glitches should be reviewed so that resources can be tangible. Click here if you would like to read the article to learn the pros, cons, and the future of OER.

I have learned so much while doing my PowerPoint assignment. Learning how to record my presentation was a very successful task. However, I should have practiced a bit more with the recording part. This would have allowed me to fully understand how to use it properly and learn its tricks. Learning how to make my own SmartArt was my personal favorite. Another thing I appreciated from doing this assignment was getting to choose my own topic for the presentation. It really helped me envision what it would be like teaching for a particular grade level. Learning how to order the animations was a big plus for me too! Again, learning all of these PowerPoint skills will certainly help me in the future as an educator. Below are screenshots of my PowerPoint, feel free to look through them!
