I believe technology has developed at a rapid rate. In doing so, it has allowed the education universe to use its attractive resources in the classroom. Reading, writing, math, and science programs are now animated because of technology to motivate students to learn efficiently. This keeps the learning process exciting and new for students and positively challenges teachers. The everyday evolution of technology influences teachers to create interesting lesson plans. The students are influenced with new modern resources provided by technology. Technology aides the educational harmony by encouraging both educators and students to engage with technology.
The International Society for Technology in Education embodies the progression of technology within the walls of pedagogy. It also cultivates a secure space for technology in the classroom. ISTE allows for educators to carefully look at their creative activities and learn new ways in which to expand their knowledge. One standard that stood out to me was standard number 2, Digital Citizen, "Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical". I do believe students should be active citizens and treat technology within the guidelines provided. This encourages the learning process because a safe space was established prior. The standard that I am not proficient in yet is number 4, Innovative Designer, "Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions". The classes I've taken in my whole education career I have never explored design in technology in depth. In this class, I feel like I will learn cool tricks and tips that will make me an innovative designer.
I am not sure I feel comfortable with being labeled as a "digital native" just because I was born in the era where technology bloomed. The interesting fact is that I was born when technology was still being innovated. I sort of discovered and learned about the power of technology by the age of ten or eleven. Ten year olds currently know more than I did when I was at that age. But labeling them "digital natives" does not sit well with me. It builds a gap between people who were born around technology and people who weren't. A digital native is a person that was born during the explosion of technology making them "experts" in the use of computers, smart phones, etc. In terms of digital immigrants, there was a slight difference I noticed when a teacher did not know what went wrong with a piece of technology, but it was usually because they weren't technicians. On other occasions, I had teachers that knew how to efficiently handle technology in the classroom because they were tech savvy. The differences I anticipate to come across between me and my future students is when a new piece of technology is created and I have to learn of to use it and incorporate it in the classroom. Other than that I don't think I will have such a hard time figuring out technology in the future. Learning the ins and outs of new technology makes it easier for use, so that will be a tip I'll stick by.

I love the analogy you made about Digital Harmory. It is cool to think of technology as a way to connect people. And not just see it as a way to "make things easier/advanced"per say. I will definitely keep that in mind next time I decide to rant about technology.
