Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone!

The new skills I learned in Diigo has helped me become aware about annotating important articles. I can screenshot and annotate it, create a tag that relates to the same topic, and finally I now know how to create groups on Diigo. It is extremely useful once it is installed into Chrome. It can be useful in the classroom because students can interact with each other about certain ideas. Also, let's say there is a group project about a research topic. Diigo can be very beneficial when the team members are not close in proximity. They can create a group on Diigo and they will be able to see the annotations, screenshots, and sticky notes within the article they choose. Using Diigo has made me very efficient in finding and annotating the right article.

While using PowerPoint I plan to efficiently design each presentation. I will keep in these in mind, create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, and remember. An example for a lesson would be the grassland parent animals and their babies, for a Kindergarten class. For the first one create, I will always produce new or original designs for specific times in the lesson plan. For the evaluation portion, the students will have the opportunity to argue or have a discussion about the topic in the PPT. Next, the analysis part the students will be able to draw connections to the projects we have done. This helps with the progressions of the class throughout the year. For the three last sections, apply, understand, and remember can be done all together. This allows students to learn actively so that they can actually learn the material.

Teachers can use websites to their advantage. Teacher professional development is improved with being up to date with technology and knowing how to effectively use them within and for the classroom. Technology is here to help educators and it allows them to perform better in the classroom. It is definitely important to keep tabs on all the new surfacing technologies for teachers. For example, teachers can use Pinterest and Twitter to name a few, to share their work with other teachers. This builds a community of teachers to help each other out. The website I found to stay ware of the technological changes in education is, 'Teacher Cast- Educational Network'. Click the link and check out the website!
